Membership

If you are a Christian, it’s important to belong to your church… that is, it’s important to fit in. In finding a church where you can fit in, there are three essential ingredients:

spiritual nurture (solid Biblical teaching)
connecting with people (making friends)
something to do (an avenue of service to God and to people)

The majority of regular attenders at New Life Assembly of God don’t actually want to join a church, but are still very much part of our church family. But if you are interested, it is important to understand that membership is a legal relationship with the church. There are some advantages to holding membership in this church. Members have a say in decisions of congregational importance and can hold offices in the church or receive an appointment as a department head. The requirements for membership are simple:

Live a life that pleases God.
Understand and believe the central teachings of the Bible.
Attend a special membership class or complete the membership series downloadable from this site.
Be received into membership.
Support the church by your means, presence, abilities and example.

You will need to complete the four part Bible study series titled “A Place For You.” This study covers the essential teachings of what the church is and how we relate to it and to each other. The last study covers some of the organizational aspects of our General Counsel, District Counsel, Section and local church. You will need to download and complete each study, download and read our Bylaws and download and complete the membership application. Lesson 3 will also require that you download the Finding Your Gifts Assessment. Turn the completed studies and application in to the pastor.
